Dozens of armored Syrian military forces deployed outside the Syrian town of Banias Thursday afternoon, AFP reported.
One witness said, "it looks like they are preparing to attack the town, like they did in Deraa," speaking with AFP.
Earlier Thursday, Syrian army troops arrested 300 people as they were retreating from Deraa, the Damascus suburb that has been the epicenter of Syria's uprising.
The arrests took place in the suburb of Saqba, near the Syrian capital. "Security service agents backed by troops detained more than 300 people in Saqba," including some clerics, witnesses told AFP.
