Train conductors fail to arrive to work due to 'illness'

Israel Railway workers called for an "Italian strike" (work-to-rule) Wednesday after 28 out of 202 train conductors failed to arrive to work in the morning, claiming they were sick.
Traffic disruptions were expected throughout the day.
The conductors' actions were due to implementation of a new software system last week that regulates longer shifts and redistributes work for the drivers, as was agreed upon between the Histadrut labor federation and railway management.
