Treated sewage water from Haifa area possibly poisoned

The Water Authority has granted temporary leave for farmers in the Jezreel Valley to use fresh water instead of treated sewage water after farmers complained the water was harming their crops.
After testing the water, the Authority found that it contained abnormal levels of pesticides and salinity.
The levels of pesticides point to the possibility that the crops had been poisoned on purpose and an investigation has been launched.
The Authority reminds Haifa area residents that there is absolutely no threat to the  drinking water in the area. It was only the treated sewage water which was suspect.
