Volcanic ash closes airports in Spain, Morocco

Spanish authorities said Tuesday that seven airports were closed because of ash from the volcano in Iceland.
The Spanish National Airport Authority said airports in the Canary islands of Tenerife, La Palma and La Gomera had been closed closed since 5 a.m. Tuesday, likely affecting dozens of tourist flights.
On mainland Spain, airports at Seville and Jerez in the south and Badajoz in the east were closed at 6 a.m. (0400 GMT).
Reuters reported that Morocco also shut down several of its airports - among them Rabat, Casablanca, Tangier and Essaouira - as the cloud neared Africa.
