White House: We will not undermine ability to implement Iran nuclear deal

The White House said on Tuesday that it will not sign any legislation that would undermine the ability to implement the Iran nuclear deal.

Spokesman Josh Earnest was asked about the deal in light of Congress wanting to pass legislation to halt the agreement signed by the P5+1 (France, Germany, Russia, Britain and China + US) under the leadership of US President Barack Obama.

"If Congress wants to put more on the table then we'll take a look at what they propose. We certainly are not going to however sign a piece of legislation that would undermine the ability the international community to continue to successfully implement the international agreement to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon," Earnest said.

The comments come as the US issues a license to France's Airbus for the sale of 106 commercial planes to Iran Air, Iran's flagship carrier, a source familiar with the matter said.
