Yacimovich: Herzog is a worthy candidate, we will hold clean and fair primary

Labor leader Shelly Yacimovich congratulated MK Isaac Herzog, calling him a "worthy candidate" after he officially entered the race for the party's leadership on Monday with the backing of fellow Yacimovich opponents Eitan Cabel and Erel Margalit.

"Internal democratic competition for the leadership of a party has indeed become a rare event in a political landscape full of singular leaders, but it is the lifeblood of modern democracy. We are proud of that," she said.

Yacimovich added that the party's November 21 primary would be a "clean and fair election."
