Yemen opposition says considering escalation

SANAA - Yemen's opposition is considering escalating efforts to pressure President Ali Abdullah Saleh to step aside after his last-minute refusal to sign a Gulf-mediated transition of power deal, an opposition official said on Sunday.
"We are studying the options of escalations and waiting for a U.S.-European stance on Saleh's refusal to sign," a senior opposition leader told Reuters, declining to be named because no formal decision had been taken.
He added that the opposition would not travel to Riyadh on Sunday to meet Gulf Arab foreign ministers due to hold talks on Yemen, saying there was no reason to attend.
