Navy to use IAI observation technology

The Tamam division of Israel Aerospace Industries said Monday it has won a $15m. contract to provide advanced observation technology to the Israeli Navy.

The Tamam division of Israel Aerospace Industries said Monday it has won a $15m. contract to provide advanced observation technology to the Israeli Navy. The devices, known as Plug in Optronic Payload, or POP, and MiniPOP, a more compact version, include night and day infrared cameras and laser rangefinders. The devices will be integrated with the Navy's current weapons systems, and will allow operations at night and in any weather. Tamam develops gyroscopes and inertial navigation devices as well as electro-optical observation systems for clients around the world.
