The M&H whisky distillery was founded in 2013, in Tel Aviv — or more precisely, in Jaffa. The people involved decided to produce single malt whisky that would represent Israel on the global stage.

Traditional copper stills were set up, recipes were developed, unique barrels arrived, and a motivated professional team was assembled — and ten years later, the dream came true. The distillery won the most prestigious whisky competition in the industry, earning the title: The Best Single Malt Whisky in the World.

Like most young whisky distilleries around the globe, M&H has been producing a gin brand since its early days. Today, the brand has evolved into a wonderful summer gin series that will refresh the local mixology scene. Israeli pride.

Local Mixology

“We decided to expand the gin line with the idea of winking a little toward the world of mixology and broadening the local character of the gin brand,” says Tomer Goren, M&H’s master distiller.

“We kept the Levantine, but it got a new look like the rest of the series, and alongside it, we added a dry gin brand, in response to local market demand.”

“Levantine isn’t an everyday gin — it’s a niche product in a different category, an aromatic gin. But there was a demand for a gin that would fit more into the classic gin category. We also added an orange gin, Jaffa Gin, which connects to local identity and to Jaffa’s oranges.”

“At the distillery, we emphasize teamwork and the work atmosphere — everyone depends on each other, and the work environment is built on mutual responsibility, involvement, and employee care,” Tomer continued.

All of this led to full team involvement in the development and production of the new gin brands. “The guys from production helped me here,” adds Tomer, “everyone took on responsibility for a different area. Two people were in charge of developing the orange gin, and one was responsible for the dry gin. It’s mainly their work, and it allows the production team to spread their wings and experiment.”

TLV Dry GIN

According to the distillery team, TLV Dry GIN was created inspired by the city and for the city. And they elaborate, in a tone reminiscent of urban renewal entrepreneurs: “Tel Aviv is a city of harmony, a blend of classic and innovation, of luxury restaurants and vibrant bars that stay open late, of old and new — just like our gin.”

The gin, in a traditional London Dry style, is balanced and full of life, with bold juniper flavors and citrus aromas. Suitable for drinking neat, on the rocks, in a gin and tonic, or in classic cocktails. 41% alcohol.
