Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump are conducting advanced negotiations on a new comprehensive hostage and ceasefire proposal, issuing an ultimatum to Hamas regarding the release of hostages and the future of the Gaza Strip, N12 reported on Saturday night.
The proposal reportedly includes a demand that Hamas disarm and release all hostages immediately.
In the aftermath of the demands being met, the US would lead an international administration that would be established in the Gaza Strip, the report added.
As part of the ultimatum, Trump would give a "green light" for the IDF to act freely in the enclave if the terror group rejects the proposal, N12 claimed.
This report comes amid Gaza terror groups publishing footage of hostages Evyatar David and Rom Braslavski, showing them both appearing to be starving and emaciated. These videos have escalated Israeli officials discussing Hamas's starvation policy against hostages to increase pressure on Israel, N12 reported.
We know the captors are not starving, Israeli official states
"We know from testimonies of freed hostages and from the information we have today that the hostages' captors do not appear this way," a senior Israeli official was cited as saying.
“This is deliberate starvation not only to abuse the hostages themselves but to torment their families and the public,” they added.
Earlier in May, Trump said that the US should take control of the Gaza Strip, deal with Hamas, and turn it into a freedom zone, while the US president was on a state visit to Qatar.
“If it’s necessary, I think I’d be proud to have the United States have it, take it, make it a freedom zone,” he said during a business roundtable.
“Let some good things happen, put people in homes where they can be safe, and Hamas is going to have to be dealt with,” Trump was quoted as saying.
