Taybeh's iconic Palestinian Octoberfest opened on Saturday and will run through Sunday. With locally brewed beer at 15 NIS, it has attracted hundreds from across the Palestinian Territories and Israel.
The US Consul-General Donald Blome attended the opening along with representatives of the local churches, as well as Palestinian bodybuilder Anoush Belian. Palestinian Authority officials also attended.
After a period of two years where the festival had faced troubles finding a venue, it was back in Taybeh, east of Ramallah, next to the brewing company. It is being hosted by the Khoury family, who run the brewery and new Taybeh winery, as well as a local hotel.
Local artists and dancers joined in the festivities that are expected to attract thousands in the coming day.
