An Israeli human rights group Shurat HaDin has formally accused the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) of failing to support over 130,000 internally displaced Israelis amid recent conflicts with Hamas. The Shurat HaDin organization, led by Nitsana Darshan-Leitner, claimed that the UN's refugee agency has displayed a lack of action and bias against Jewish victims of the violence.

According to a statement from Shurat HaDin, since October 7th, Israeli families from more than 60 communities have faced displacement due to the war in Gaza and additional threats from Hezbollah. These families have suffered losses from the conflict, including deaths, kidnappings, and complete destruction of property.

More than 200 Indian Jews, members of the Bnei Menashe community, made Aliyah since the October 7 massacre and were called up for either reserve or active combat duty, the Shavei Israel nonprofit announced Monday.

Seventy-five of the recent immigrants from India have enlisted in combat units, while 140 were called up for reserve service across Israel.

Jerusaem-based non-profit Shavei Israel, founded by Michael Freund, aims to strengthen ties between Diaspora communities across the globe and the State of Israel. As per the nonprofit, they have been lobbying for the mass immigration of the Bnei Menashe community, which claims it is descended from one of the Lost Tribes of Israel, for over two decades in various capacities.

99% of men of military age enlisted in IDF amid war

Freund told The Jerusalem Post in May that "there are a total of about 5,000 Menashe people left in India who have been requesting to immigrate to Israel for many years."

According to Shavei Israel, 99% of all men of military age who immigrated from India joined Israel's fight against the Hamas terrorist group, while 90% of women enrolled in National Service.

Bnei Menashe Jews want to fight shoulder-to-shoulder with other Jews

One Bnei Menashe community member, 26-year-old Natanel Touthang, who serves in the Givati Brigade was wounded by shrapnel of a Hezbollah rocket fired at Israel's North.

"Since the war broke out, Shavei Israel has received hundreds of requests from young community members in northeastern India asking to make Aliyah immediately," Freund said. "Not only that – they are asking to join the IDF immediately to fight shoulder to shoulder with their brothers and sisters."

An Israeli-Bedouin family from Tel Sheva is offering $1 million for information regarding the Hamas terrorists who killed their son Osama Abu Assa during the October 7 mass infiltration and massacre of Israelis.

Osama, from the bereaved family that resides in the Negev Bedouin town, was one of 1,400 Israelis murdered in the massacre, which included the beheading and killing of children and infants.

He was murdered after failing to hide from terrorists who massacred over 240 partygoers at a music festival in Re'im.

According to Maariv, footage recorded from a vehicle's dashcam obtained by security forces showed the terrorists ordering Abu Assa to strip, torturing him before shooting him dead.

The family posted an Arabic-language video to social media, offering anyone who has information on the Hamas terrorist involved in Abu Assa's murder $7 million.

Hamas murdered Osama despite knowing he wasn't Jewish, uncle says

"They murdered him despite knowing he was a Bedouin," his uncle told Maariv this week. "We want to know who is responsible - our mentality is blood vengeance," he added.

"We will reach [the terrorist], no matter where they are. If they have family in Israel or Jordan, we will reach the father, the brother, and the uncle. They will have to pay the price."

Arnold Getayeb/Maariv contributed to this report.
