Border Police arrested a man from Gaza in his 20s on suspicion of attempting to carry out a terror attack at the Qalandiya checkpoint, north of Jerusalem.
The officers saw the suspect walking toward the crossing on foot and became suspicious. When they approached him to check, he pulled out a knife.
The police subdued the suspect and took him into custody. The knife was confiscated, and the officers weren't harmed.
Officers are still operating at the scene as normal.
IDF soldiers arrested five terrorists in the city of Qalqilya on suspicion of involvement in terror activities, Walla reported.
On Wednesday, police arrested a resident of Tulkarm suspected of planning a terror-related offense within Israel. The arrest took place at a construction site in Ra'anana following extensive ground and aerial searches.
Security forces conducted searches for over an hour for the Tulkarm resident suspected of intending to carry out the attack.
Security forces arrest 42 Palestinians from Gaza in Nazareth
Additionally, on Tuesday, Israeli security forces arrested 42 illegal Palestinian residents from Gaza in Nazareth.
As part of an operation aimed at preventing illegal stay offenses, Border Police and Israel Police officers searched various buildings in Nazareth to locate illegal residents.
Israel Police said in a statement that 28 illegal residents were found in one building, along with a large quantity of goods. Later on, the operating forces located 11 additional illegal residents hiding out in an apartment, and another three in a second apartment.
An initial investigation revealed that all came from Gaza.
