The IDF killed dozens of terrorists during a series of operations carried out in the Gaza Strip over the past month, the military announced Monday.
According to the IDF, Division 99, operating in coordination with the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), led the efforts, which targeted terrorist operatives and infrastructure in multiple locations across the territory.
Among the individuals killed was Ahmed Abu Deif, identified as the deputy company commander in Hamas’s Zeitoun Battalion.
Deif had served in that role since 2024 and was involved in planning and directing attacks against Israeli forces in northern and central Gaza.
Taleb Sidqi Taleb Abu Atiwi, who took part in the October 7 attack and was described by the IDF as a commander in Hamas’s Nukhba force, was also killed.
Airstrikes target operational infrastructure
The IDF stated that buildings in the Shejaiya and Zeitoun neighborhoods were struck during the operations. The targeted sites were reportedly used by operatives from Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad for meetings and operational planning.
The airstrikes were carried out by Israeli Air Force aircraft, in coordination with ground forces and the 990 Fire Brigade.
The IDF said its forces remain active in the Gaza Strip and that operations are ongoing. The military stated that its efforts are aimed at disrupting terrorist activity and preventing further attacks on Israeli targets.
