The IDF killed several terrorists while crossing Gaza's Yellow Line in two separate events on Monday, the military said in a statement.
One of the terrorists was seen “planting suspicious objects in the ground adjacent to troops,” and was subsequently struck. “The remaining terrorists fled from the scene to the area west of the Yellow Line,” the statement read.
Another terrorist attempted to approach IDF troops stationed near the Yellow Line and was killed as he “posed an immediate threat,” the military added.
Zamir hints at IDF taking control of further Yellow Line areas
This comes after Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen Eyal Zamir commented on Sunday on the possibility of taking control of areas across the Yellow Line.
"We must be prepared for a rapid transition to a large-scale activity to establish operational control of areas in the Gaza Strip, if required."
"Our troops continue operating along the Yellow Line to clear the area and eliminate terrorist strongholds," Zamir went on, noting that the IDF will keep its directive until Hamas is disarmed and Gaza demilitarized.
On Sunday, the IDF published a post on social media, explaining how terrorists have been attempting to breach Gaza's Yellow Line.
The military noted that "terrorists have been identified crossing the line almost every day, threatening IDF troops."
