Rescue helicopters, stretchers, omegas, the Fire Department and Magen David Adom came to the Knesset Tuesday.But it was only a drill.The Knesset Guard prepared the parliament and practiced rescue procedures as part of a national drill that took place in other government institutions, the IDF and schools across the country.Members of the Knesset Guard were rescued from the fifth floor by zip lines and ladders, treated by paramedics and brought to a helicopter at the helicopter pad in the Rose Garden across the street from the Knesset.Speaking near the helicopter, Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein pronounced Israel's parliament ready."I sincerely hope the drill will give us the knowledge we need to handle such situations," Edelstein told The Jerusalem Post at the helicopter pad. "God willing, we will never have to use this knowledge in real life."
