Laszlo has faced controversy over supposed statements that opponents allege criticized the IDF's activities, particularly during the Israel-Hamas War.

The day of commemoration is set to begin on Monday night with a prerecorded official state Remembrance Day ceremony at the Yad Vashem Holocaust museum and memorial site.

The petitions, first filed in 2020, were brought by female candidates and service members seeking equal access to screening and service in elite units, including the infantry and maneuvering armor.
