The IDF began its 15th wave of strikes on targets in Iran on Friday afternoon, the military announced.
It noted that it had struck infrastructure belonging to the Islamic regime in Tehran and Isfahan.
"Over 400 targets were struck in several areas in Iran, including ballistic missile launchers and Iranian UAVs storage facilities," the IDF said in a statement.
During this recent wave of strikes, an Israeli Air Force aircraft identified a truck loaded with an Iranian air defense system in the area of Shahroud that was attempting to transfer it to another area in Iran, the military said, adding that the truck was targeted and destoryed.
"The Israeli Air Force continues to strike in order to minimize fire directed at the territory of the State of Israel," the IDF concluded.
Concurrently with the IDF's announcement, Iran's semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported that targets in the city of Qom, south of Tehran, had also been hit.
IDF strikes senior Iranian regime commander in Tehran
An hour after the Israeli military's confirmation of the commencement of its newest round of strikes, it stated that, during its strikes in Tehran, it had targeted "a senior Iranian terror regime commander in Tehran," without naming the commander.
The military's announcements came hours after it had confirmed striking former Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei’s underground bunker in Tehran.
The earlier strikes, which involved some 50 aircraft, targeted the bunker, which, according to the IDF, was located beneath the regime leadership's Tehran compound.
Although Khamenei himself was killed nearly a week prior, the IDF noted that the bunker was intended to be used as "a secure emergency command center" and "continued to be used by senior Iranian regime officials."
The IDF went on to assert that it had been one of the Iranian regime's most critical military command centers.
While the initial military statement did not note if any senior Iranian officials were killed in the action, in a later press briefing, IDF spokesperson Brigadier General Effie Defrin said that the military was "examining the results of the attack."
