Car slams into wall of Haifa school, erupts into flames; police say driver apparently traveled at a high speed, may have been drunk.

Four people were killed Saturday morning when their car ignited in flames after smashing into a wall at the Technical School in Haifa. The four, aged 21 and 16, were driving on Route 58 and reportedly veered off the road after driving at high speeds .Firemen who arrived on the scene put out the flames and managed to pull the bodies out from inside the vehicle. Paramedics confirmed their deaths shortly thereafter.RELATED:Police probe double hit-and-run accidents It was not immediately clear what caused the accident.An officer in the Police Traffic Division, Haim Halfon, said "it is too early to determine how fast the vehicle traveled, but it appears that it traveled at a high speed."He noted that an eyewitness told police that the vehicle was moving at a high speed, and almost hit her car before it passed her on the road.Police also said an investigation was being held into whether the driver was drunk after several beer bottles were found in the car.From the force of the collision, a wall from a nearby military base broke, police said.In related news, Police began their probe of two hit-and-run accidents that occurred last Thursday, one that left on teenage girl seriously injured in Pardes Hana and the other injuring two teenagers in Haifa.Police found the 14-year-old girl lying on the road in Pardes Hana. Witnesses told Israeli media that they saw the car hit the girl and then drive off.In Haifa, a motorcyclist slammed into one teenage girl while sending the the passenger flying off the back of the bike. Both sustained moderate to light injuries.Yaakov Lappin contributed to this report.
