Jewish and Bedouin mourners joined together Sunday at the Ashkelon funeral of 45-year-old Micheal Ben-Zikri.
45-year-old Micheal Ben-Zickry from Ashdod was found unconscious, and the MDA team declared his death at the scene.
"I was hoping for a miracle, but unfortunately today he was spotted without any signs of life and after medical examinations we have nothing left but to determine his death."
The man, who nearly drowned on Friday in the Sea of Galilee, tested positive for coronavirus soon after and was moved in critical condition to the coronavirus care unit in the hospital.
"The Israeli consulate in Brazil, and the Foreign Affairs Ministry's consular Department of Israelis Abroad are assisting the family during difficult times,” the Foreign Ministry said.
The man was the fifth weather-related casualty in the past week of heavy storms in Israel.
Agbaria, who was reported missing on Sunday afternoon, and his son were traveling to Givat Nili when they got caught in a flood, according to Ynet. Agbaria's son was successfully rescued.
Authorities around the world are now explicitly warning people against using their smartphones whenever a child is near water.
His body was found midday on Monday. The search had been called off the previous night because of bad weather.
MDA has urged people not to enter the sea at night, when there are no lifeguards on duty.
