Border guards have shot and killed two African migrants and injured three others trying to cross the border into Israel, an Egyptian security official said.
The migrants refused to surrender after the guards fired warning shots into the air near the border town of Rafah early on Sunday.
The nationalities of the dead could not be determined but two of the injured are Ethiopians and the third is an Eritrean. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to speak to the media.
