Dissension within the ranks of Israel’s nationalist camp appears to be bubbling to the surface as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu embarks on efforts to assemble a ruling coalition.
In a taped recording obtained by Army Radio, Bayit Yehudi chairman Naftali Bennett is heard criticizing the premier during a meeting with party activists.
“Netanyahu will say to us, ‘Accept either the Education Ministry or the Foreign Ministry’,” Bennett is heard saying. “Does he think we’re suckers? What has happened here?”
