Employee 'tried to poison boss with mercury'

An employee is under arrest on suspicion of attempting to poison his manager's drinking water with mercury.
The unusual incident began last week when a manager at the Tadiran electrical manufacturing plant in Kiryat Ekron, near Rehovot, noticed a strange taste in his bottled water .
"He spat out the water and became suspicions," a police spokeswoman told The Jerusalem Post. "He then installed a secret video camera in his office, and left a half-filled bottle of water on his desk," she added.
After returning to his office, the manager noticed a strange texture in the water, and checked his video camera. He discovered that an employee had picked up the bottle and handled it, although the images did not clearly show mercury being put inside.
Police officers from the Rehovot station took the second bottle away for tests, and found mercury in the water. They arrested the suspect.
