The suicide bombing in which seven CIA employees were killed was carried out in retaliation for a US drone strike in Pakistan which killed several terrorists, AFP quoted a top al-Qaida figure as saying overnight Wednesday, citing a report by US monitors SITE. US government officials said earlier this week that the bomber, identified as Humam Khalil Abu-Mulal al-Balawi, had been a Jordanian informant who lured intelligence officers into a trap by promising new information about al-Qaida's top leadership. Mustafa Abu al-Yazid, who heads al-Qaida in Afghanistan, reportedly said that al-Balawi's will disclosed that the attack had been motivated by revenge for "our righteous martyrs."
