Funeral held for fallen soldier shot dead by Gaza terrorist

A funeral was held Friday in Ashkelon for fallen soldier Golani Staff-Sergeant Netanel Moshiashvili, who was shot dead earlier in the day by a Palestinian terrorist who infiltrated into Israel from Gaza.

At 5 a.m. an armed gunman crossed into Israel from Gaza. He cut the fence and was able to infiltrate into Israel. He was detected by an IDF reconnaissance unit and a force from the Golani Brigade 12th Battalion arrived at the scene.

The force arrived at the scene, shots were fired and the soldier was killed. The soldiers returned fire and killed the gunman as well.
