Gush Etzion council head David Perl said he wished the soldiers a speedy recovery.

"We appreciate the work of the soldiers and the security forces," he said.
He urged Israelis not to allow the accident to deter them from visiting the Gush Etzion region during the Succot holiday.

"In spite of the serious incident, we expect thousands of Israelis to continue to visit the tourist sites and to participate in the harvest festival," he said.

"I invite the entire nation to celebrate with us," Perl said.
