Haitian President Rene Preval said Wednesday that his country appreciates the aid that Israel has provided to those hurt in the quake.

"This disaster has not only harmed people," Preval explained to Channel 10, describing his government's helplessness in the face of the disaster.

"One must understand that the damage caused was comprehensive and has effected every aspect of Haitian society," the Haitian leader said.
