Jerusalem police on high alert ahead of Friday prayers

Jerusalem police were on high alert ahead of Friday prayers in the capital following a week which saw some protests to Operation Pillar of Defense.

Police decided to restrict entrance to the Temple Mount to Muslim worshipers over the age of 40 and in possession of a blue Israeli identity card.

In addition, police and Border Patrol were scheduled to be deployed in the area of the Temple Mount, as well as in the Old City and east Jerusalem.
