Kadima Knesset member Eli Aflalo tendered his resignation from the Knesset Monday to Knesset speaker Reuven Rivlin. The resignation will take effect on Wednesday following a tribute session that will be held in his honor.

Aflalo, who is the new honorary co-chairman of the Jewish National Fund/Keren Kayemet le'Israel, will be replaced in the Knesset by Kadima activist Avi Duan.
