The Knesset plenum voted on Wednesday against a proposal to establish a special commission on the exclusion of women.
There are already a number of Knesset bodies that deal with the gender issue, including the Ministerial Committee on the
Status of Women.
The vote count was 31 for the proposal while 48 voted against it, including Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz, and Culture and Sport Minister Limor Livnat, who heads the Committee on the Status of Women.
