Landau: Finance Ministry torpedoed infrastructure projects

Infrastructure Minister Uzi Landau accused the Finance Ministry 's budget council for torpedoing infrastructural projects in their planning stages, such as the Tel Aviv light rail.
During his speech Wednesday at the Herzliya Conference, an annual summit for national and international Israeli leaders, Landau slammed bureaucratic hurdles within the government that prevented him from deposing senior officials that had caused damage or become inefficient.
Landau called for the creation of a 10-MK committee that would discuss budget issues, and that the infrastructure minister would act as an arbiter between the Environment, Transport, and Housing Ministries.
