Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman on Thursday called for the international community to take concrete measures against Syrian President Bashar Assad following the resignation of the UN's Arab League mediator Kofi Annan, according to Channel 10.

Speaking in Albania prior to inaugurating Israel's embassy in the country, Liberman said: "In order to restore its credibility, and in order to be considered a stabilizing mediator in conflict zones around the world- and specifically in the Middle East- the international community must take concrete steps on Syria and not settle for words."
