MDA officials released on bail for suspected tax evasion

Magen David Adom chairman Eli Bean and the organization's financial manager Ofer Dan were released on bail Tuesday night after being investigated for tax evasion, Army Radio reported. The two are suspected of not paying NIS 176 million in taxes on profits made from selling MDA ambulances to various other organizations including the police and electric company.Police do not suspect the chairman and financial manager of taking the profits for personal use, according to the Army Radio report.
