Ministerial Legislation C'tee to discuss rights of art school students

The Ministerial Legislation Committee will convene on Sunday to determine whether or not art students should be recognized as university students. The debate will center on a bill put forth by MK Alex Miller (Israel Beiteinu), which calls for the government to grant equal rights to film, theater and fine arts students at higher education instititutions. If passed, the bill will enable art students to easily apply for student IDs, establish student unions and postpone exams in case of reserve duty. It will not, however, equate art schools with universities.
