Tourism Minister Stas Miseznikov failed to attend a dinner with Spanish businessmen during his state visit in Spain last week, and instead went out drinking and eating with friends until 4 a.m., Channel 10 reported Sunday night.

According to the report, local businessmen paid money in order to attend the dinner with the minister, which was organized in Miseznikov's honor by the Israel-Spain Chamber of Commerce.

“The minister did not show up to the event organized in his honor because of the Holocaust Memorial ceremony,” Miseznikov's office told the television station in response to the report.
