Vice Premier Shaul Mofaz will travel to Washington on Monday for a series of key meetings that are intended to help restart the diplomatic process with the Palestinians. Mofaz is set to meet with US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, and National Security Adviser Tom Donilon.

At an ideological convention of Mofaz's Kadima's party Thursday night, Mofaz pleaded with Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas to return to the negotiating table and meet with him.
