Netanyahu: Mosque attack designed to be a provocation

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Tuesday rebuked the vandalism of a mosque near Ramallah earlier in day, saying "I strongly condemn the torching of the mosque and I hope the arsonists are caught promptly and punished."
He added, "This is a crime designed to be a provocation. Israel has made it a priority to respect freedom of religion and we will act resolutely against anyone who harms this principle."
Palestinians from the village of al-Muayar, near Ramallah reported that a carpet in the mosque was set fire early Tuesday in what appeared to be a "price tag" attack in response to the evacuation of the Alei Ayin settlement outpost last week.
