Netanyahu announces increase in security budget

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu presented his assessment on the Israeli security situation in the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
Netanyahu stated that the security budget is expected to increase in light of the expected threats of the upcoming decade.
The plan formed by Netanyahu, which he dubbed "2030 Security Assessment", was the first topic discussed at the meeting. Additional issues on the agenda were the measures Israel may implement for easing the restrictions on the Gaza Kerem Shalom crossing.
Netanyahu declared: "Due to our heavy population density and the surrounding threats, Israel's security needs will always be greater than any similarly sized country," adding, "The increase will be made in consideration of maintaining a responsible budget."
