PA: Ban Ki-moon trip tentatively scheduled for end of month

The Palestinian Authority has reached an "agreement in principle" for United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to visit with PA President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah in late January or early February, PA envoy to the UN Riyad Mansour said Friday.
The UN secretary-general had expressed his desire visit Ramallah during his visit to the region next week but the meeting was not possible because Abbas will be in Europe, Mansour said. "We are working on [finalizing] the date."
Noting that the last time Ban visited the Palestinian territories was some three years ago, Mansour said "It would be great for him to come see the situation on the ground.|
