President Shimon Peres said Monday that Israel is not threatening anyone, nor is it afraid of threats voiced against it.

Speaking at the Israel Defense Prize ceremony held at the President's Residence in Jerusalem, Peres said, "I suggest that enemies make no mistake regarding our capabilities, both known and unknown.

"Israel can repel any threat whether it comes from near or far," he added.
