Jerusalem police arrested a 20-year-old Arab man at the Kalandiya checkpoint on Tuesday afternoon who was carrying eight pipe bombs in his bag.

Kalandiya, the major checkpoint between Jerusalem and Ramallah, was immediately closed to traffic. Police said the man is from the Palestinian territories.

A bomb squad detonated the eight pipe bombs found in his bag.
