Portugal poll shows opposition headed for victory

LISBON - The popularity of Portugal's opposition Social Democrats (PSD) rose in a poll published on Thursday, putting them on course to win a June 5 election.

The poll published in business daily Diario Economico gave the center-right Social Democrats 39.7 percent support and the ruling Socialists 33.4 percent, down from 36.1 percent. The PSD had 35.3 percent support in the last poll.
