Rail workers who stopped new line are punished, suspended

Israel Railways CEO Boaz Tzafrir on Monday said that management of the company has handed down harsh measures, among them, suspension on nine workers that prevented the departure of a new rail line Sunday.
The new line, from Tel Aviv to Rishon Lezion West, was designed to connect the Center to the periphery. A Labor court had previously ordered that the workers return to negotiations and not prevent the rail line from opening, a call echoed by union officials.
