Report: Germany's de Maiziere chosen as defense minister

BERLIN - Germany's coalition government has chosen Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere to replace Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg as defense minister, government sources said on Wednesday.
The appointment is part of a reshuffle that will also see Hans-Peter Friedrich become interior minister, Christian Social Union (CSU) party sources said.
De Maiziere is a member of Chancellor Angela Merkel's CDU Christian Democrats.
Friedrich heads the CSU's parliamentary grouping.
