Elections will be held in five months, Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin predicted on Wednesday.

Rivlin explained to Ma'ariv that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu faces several major issues, such as the Tal Law and the budget, which will require him to make his priorities clear and put pressure on various coalition partners.

"There are social and general issues, plus elections in the US," the Knesset Speaker pointed out. "Netanyahu would rather have these problems behind him and not ahead of him, so he will go to the polls."
