Syria state TV: Car bomb kills 15 in central Damascus

BEIRUT - A car bomb exploded in central Damascus killing 15 and wounding 47, state television said on Monday.

A resident in Damascus, who described the explosion as the biggest she had heard in the capital, said large plumes of smoke were rising from the area.  The explosion occurred in the heavily populated area of Sabaa Bahrat in central Damascus, which is a business hub.
