DAMASCUS- Syrian security forces dispersed about 150 people who had been demanding the release of political prisoners in front of the Interior Ministry in central Damascus on Wednesday, a witness said.

Scores of security forces charged the gathering with black batons and at least one demonstrator suffered a gash on his head, the witness said, adding that he saw at least five protesters detained by security forces.
