Three Israelis killed in less than 12 hours in road accidents Monday

Three Israelis were killed in less than 12 hours in road accidents across the country on Monday.
In the center of Tel Aviv, a 55-year-old man riding a motorcycle was hit by a car and thrown from his vehicle on north Ibn Gvirol Boulevard. The man was moderately wounded and taken to Ichilov Hospital, wehre he died not long after.
Tel Aviv police said they have opened an investigation into the accident and believe one of the vehicles veered out of its lane for an unclear reason, causing the collision.
In Rishon Letzion, 83-year-old Meir Solomon was crossing Mordei Haghettaot street in the city when he was struck and killed in a hit-and-run collision. Police are still looking for the driver of the car that hit Solomon, and no arrests have yet been made.
In the south, a 66-year-old bike rider was hit by a tractor trailer and killed, at the Goral junction just north of Be'ersheba. The driver of the truck, a 46-year-old resident of northern Israel, was taken for questioning by police.
Also on Monday, a 20-year-old woman was hit by a tractor trailer on highway 40 near the kommemiut junction. She was taken from the scene by a helicopter in serious condition, police said Monday afternoon.
