US lawmaker: Brotherhood will keep Israel treaty

A group of US congressmen met in Cairo on Monday with the Muslim Brotherhood's presidential candidate, who sought to assure them that if elected he would uphold women's and minority rights and the peace treaty with Israel.
Republican congressman David Dreier described the meeting as "interesting and enlightening," and said candidate Khairat al-Shater addressed issues of human and women's rights and rule of law. Dreier told the London-based pan-Arab newspaper Al-Hayat that Shater had "expressed his commitment to the peace and security with Israel."
