Youth gets 64 months in prison for killing pedestrian

The Haifa District Court on Wednesday sentenced a 17-year-old to 64 months in prison for killing a female pedestrian and injuring a number of others in 2009.
The youth, a resident of a village in the lower Galilee, was also charged with abandonment, driving without a license and other offenses.
The accident occurred in February 2009 as the young man was driving at high speeds in the village of Manda. He veered from his lane, ran over a sidewalk and struck a number of pedestrians.
